ABOUT The ARTIST
My name is Brooke Kim Tittle. I am a Korean American female ceramic artist located in Sisters, Oregon.
Originally from Salt Lake City, I was a photographer for years before taking a ceramics course at the University of Utah in the Spring of 2014. I instantly loved the magic of ceramics and realized I had finally found my medium. I studied for two years under Diane Shaw at the historic Stoker School in Bountiful, Utah before continuing to create in my own private studio.
I create each piece with a combination of hand building, sculpting, slip casting, and slip trailing. The slow repetitive processes are meditative for me. You can see the evidence of the maker in the forms, which I love. It is unlike anything made in a factory.
The decorative finishes are a combination of colored clay and glaze. Each piece is methodically decorated and finished individually. Even within thematic collections, no two pieces are exactly the same.
My work can be viewed in person at the galleries listed on my contact page.
